Iran’s Deputy Culture Minister for Cultural Affairs and Director of the 35th Tehran International Book Fair Yaser Ahmadvand made the remarks in a presser today.
Over 50,000 books are to be showcased in the major cultural event, the head of this year’s book fair stated.
Ahmadvand added that 20 special guests are also set to attend this section, hoping that this will be the beginning of the relationship between Iranian and global publishers.
With the slogan "Let's Read and Create", the 35th edition of the TIBF is slated for May 8-18,2024, at the Mosalla venue in the capital city.
Yemen will replace India as the special guest of this edition of the book fair.
The landmark book fair will simultaneously be held virtually on ketab.ir, IRNA reported.
Tehran Book Fair is the major Iranian book event held annually. The international section of the fair aims to introduce the capacities of the publishing industry of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to expand cultural exchanges in the international scene, to lay the groundwork for communication between Iranian and foreign publishers.
