Iranian actress, poet and dubbing artist Zhaleh Olov passes away

IBNA- Veteran Iranian actress, poet and dubbing artist Zhaleh Olov passed away in her hometown, Tehran. She was 97.

Mrs. Olov 's son, Shahrokh Razmjoo confirmed her passing an added that she died around noon on Monday at Shahram Hospital in the Iranian capital.

Born in 1927, she started her career working in radio and cinema in 1948 and was an actress in theater in 1949. She made her screen debut in The Tempest of Life (1948, dir. A. Daryabeigi).

Among her more important roles in cinema are: 'Dash Akol' (1971), 'The Fateful Day' (1994), 'The Snowman' (1994)

She dubbed cartoons for the first time in Iran with Walt Disney cartoons, such as 'Cinderella', 'Pinocchio', 'Sleeping Beauty', 'One Hundred and One Dalmatians', 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs', and 'The Aristocats'.

From the 1980's, Olov played roles in various TV series, with memorable performances in 'Amir Kabir' (1985) and 'Once Upon a Time' (1991).
