Iran's Book House attends 25th Baghdad Int'l Book Fair

IBNA- Representing the Iranian publishing industry, Iran's Book and Literature House Institute has participated at the 25th Baghdad International Book Fair held under the theme “From Iraq, the first letter to the world was written".

Over 23 Iranian publishers and cultural organizations are partaking in the book fair, displaying about 1,500 book titles on various subjects including Islamic studies, literature, children's books, Persian education, academic books, resistance, and the Sacred Defense. There is also a special section dedicated to the Holy Quran.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Iraqi Deputy Minister of Trade Sattar Al-Jabiri emphasized the importance of book fairs as spaces for connection between authors, readers, and the broader cultural community.

Head of the Publishers Union and the Supreme Preparatory Committee for the Book Fair Abdul Wahab Al-Radhi said that 600 publishers from 21 countries have participated in the 25th Baghdad International Book Fair.

A memorandum of cooperation between the Tehran International Book Fair and the Baghdad International Book Fair is planned to be inked on the sidelines of the fair.

This year’s lineup is a celebration of Arab literary and cultural talent. Among the many distinguished guests are Jordanian novelist Dr. Ayman Al-Otooum, Egyptian actor Hany Ramzy, a beloved figure in the Arab film industry, Lebanese media icon Tony Khalife, and renowned Palestinian poet Dr. Tamim Al-Barghouthi, whose poignant verse has resonated with audiences across the Arab world.

These figures will participate in panel discussions, book signings, and public forums, giving visitors the chance to dive deeper into the latest developments in Arab literature and culture.

Running until September 22, the fair promises to be a space for discovery and dialogue, with daily events taking place from 10 AM to 10 PM. Visitors can expect to engage with prominent authors, poets, and intellectuals from the region.
